VEST
VDEM maintains a 3-team rotation roster and fills most of the VEST Command and General Staff positions. During VEST Activations, some staff may be physically present at the VEOC while others may or may not be activated. The VEST has four levels of activation designated by colors
AEW
AEW provides opportunities for state government employees to support the Commonwealth’s Emergency Response and Recovery activities. During a declared emergency, qualified AEW participants will be temporarily reassigned to close critical staffing gaps in Virginia Emergency Support Team (VEST) agencies.
